 In 1937, radically influential psychologist Carl. G. Jung embarked on an epic 5000-mile expedition around India that would profoundly influence his research and worldview. Now, over 80 years later, Bestway Tours & Safaris has worked painstakingly with our newest tour host, Dr. Evangeline Rand, to recreate this monumental journey. Dr. Rand was the first person to make public the map of Jung’s India itinerary in 2012, after discovering it in the ETH Zurich archives. Born and raised in India, Rand’s personal experience and in-depth research led to the publication of her book A Jasmine Journey: Jung’s Travel to India and Ceylon. Under her careful guidance, our 2020 Bestway journey of a lifetime, will provide the opportunity to personally experience and reflect upon some of the great and ancient sites, monuments and human endeavours of India that moved and shaped Jung’s footsteps. It is this sense of discovery and adventure that Bestway has aimed to provide our travellers with for the past 41 years. We have pioneered journeys to the four corners of the earth, even going as far as the world’s most remote island, Bouvet! In 2019 and 2020, the discovery continues. Ottawa anthropologist Dr. Stephen Inglis is a noted authority in Indian art who has been honoured for his work by the President of India and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. Paul Saltzman is a two-time Emmy Award-winning film and television producer-director who spent time with The Beatles in 1968 when they visited India, and has since been back more than 60 times. During this intimate evening, each will share their one-of-a-kind experiences, in-depth knowledge and unique tips for India travel. They will also talk about the upcoming themed India journeys they will be hosting in 2020. We will be giving away two door prizes in a draw at the end of the event!
